Professional highlights

Cross-border dispute resolution professional. Over more than two decades of my legal career, I have helped to resolve or prevent disputes between international parties using all available means:

• International Arbitration, including representing clients in high-stakes arbitration cases; securing the enforcement and recognition of foreign arbitral awards; designing counteraction strategies for international clients affected by domestic “anti-sanctions” measures; acting as an expert on domestic law issues in international arbitration proceedings.
• Litigation in state courts. I have represented clients in disputes concerning the supply of goods, privatisation, software development, trademark infringement, and other matters.
• Negotiations and mediation advocacy. In this area, I have assisted in resolving high-stakes, complex shareholder and partnership disputes, disagreements with government bodies and agencies, and conflicts involving state-owned enterprises.

Transaction specialist. In M&A and other transactions, the greatest challenge is ensuring that parties fully understand one another and make informed decisions despite legal, cultural, and commercial differences. Seamless communication and mediation are just as vital as knowledge of legal regulations and practice. Over the years, I have mastered these skills, combining them effectively with my international academic and professional background.

IP team leader. Early in my career at Sorainen, I set out to establish a leading intellectual property practice in a challenging and evolving Eastern European market. Over time, our team has earned recognition as a top performer, achieving success in the courts and before national patent authorities. We have also contributed significantly to the development and promotion of the legal framework for intellectual property. Within our regional IP practice, we aim to disseminate best practices and provide top-tier services to clients in our countries of operation, as well as managing IP protection campaigns beyond the region.

Business-minded advisor. Legal considerations are always central to business, and clients engage our team to manage these aspects. However, I am also committed to understanding the broader business context. A factory visit, a review of an annual report, an in-depth client interview, or attending a corporate presentation can create a deeper connection to both the case and the people behind it. This is why I pursued an Executive MBA at the Baltic Management Institute in Lithuania — to enhance my ability to engage with clients not just on legal matters, but in their wider business journey. I am always ready to leave my desk and travel long distances to see how things work in practice, not just on paper.
